Special Education

The Whittier City School District (WCSD) provides a continuum of supports to preschool through 8th grade students with disabilities who reside within the boundaries of WCSD.  In the WCSD, special education services are provided to support students in attaining educational benefit in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) and specifically designed instruction is provided to meet the unique needs of our students.

Our district is a member of the Whittier Area Cooperative Special Education Program (WACSEP).  We collaborate with other school districts, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and other outside agencies to ensure that every child, every day, receives a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
