New Student Enrollment for the 2021-2022 School Year
Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will begin on February 02, 2021. Priority Registration for Whittier City School District Families is February 2 - March 2, 2021. During priority registration, WCSD families have the opportunity to request Intra-District Transfers for the 2021-2022 school year. Families may continue to enroll throughout the school year.
Note: Current WCSD 5th grade students promoting to Middle School do not need to complete a new registration packet. If a student is seeking enrollment in a school other than their home school, an Intra-District permit will need to be submitted to their home school. Visit our Permits page for more information.

Registration and Enrollment Amidst COVID-19 School Closures
WCSD is committed to providing a safe environment for students, families, and staff. Due to current and ongoing COVID-19 surges and changing county health orders, WCSD is adopting new registration procedures while schools remain closed to the public. The following information reviews the 2021-2022 pre-registration process during distance learning.
Families have three options to submit pre-registration paperwork in the event that school offices remain closed to the public during the pandemic:

TK and Kindergarten Age Requirements |
Transitional Kindergarten: Child must turn five (5) between September 02, 2021 and March 02, 2022 |
Kindergarten: Child must be five (5) years of age on or before September 01, 2021 |
Registration Requirements
The following documents must be submitted by parent/guardian to complete registration:

Proof of Address: Rental Agreement, Utility Bill, or if you are living with another person, a signed written form from that person and their utility bill. The form is available in your school's office. |
Proof of Age: Birth certificate, Baptismal Certificate, Passport, or Affidavit of Birth. |
Immunizations: State law requires the following immunizations before a child may attend school.
Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap, or Td)- 5 doses (4 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday; 3 doses OK if one was given on or after 7th birthday). For 7th graders, at least 1 dose of pertussis-containing vaccine is required on or after 7th birthday.
Polia (OPV or IPV)- 4 doses (3 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday).
Hepatitis B- 3 doses (Not required for 7th grade entry)
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)- 2 doses (Both given on or after 1st birthday)
Varicella (Chickenpox)- 2 doses
Note: All seventh (7th) grade students must also provide proof of a second measles-containing vaccine, and a pertussis booster vaccine.
