Reach for the Stars and Jump Start Summer Academy are excited to announce the launch of our new online registration platform: ARUX! This new system is designed to make the registration process more efficient and convenient for our families in the Whittier City School District.

JUMP START SUMMER PROGRAM
The Jump Start Summer Program began in 2010 with funding from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, After School Education and Safety, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers. The Jump Start programs learning goals aim to have at least 90% of students enrolled in the program:
1) Increase their reading fluency by 10 words per minute over the course of the summer,
2) Increase their knowledge and appreciation of out-of-door environments over the course of the summer, and
3) Increase their knowledge about a lifestyle based on healthy cooking and nutrition over the course of the summer.
The Jump Start Program Principles include:
- Mutual respect between Adults and Students
- Strong partnership between Community Organizations
- Promotion of Safe and Healthy Lifestyles
- Equal access to Academic Enrichment & 21st Century Skill Building activities
- Opportunities for Youth Leadership
